What to Record Before You See a Urologist
Before a urology visit, record how many times you wake to urinate each night, roughly when, what you drank in the evening, and any daytime urinary symptoms, for at least several nights. ManCore's free Nocturia Log and symptom diary keep that record in one place.
What to write down
How many times you get up each night
Count each trip to the bathroom between going to sleep and your final waking. Do this for several nights in a row rather than one, so the record shows your usual pattern.
When the trips happen
Note the rough time of each one. Trips clustered early in the night can look different from trips spread across the night, and a clinician may ask which you have.
What you drank and when
Write down evening fluids, including alcohol and caffeine. Timing of drinks can affect night-time trips, and your doctor will likely ask.
Daytime urinary symptoms
Record weak stream, urgency, straining, and frequent daytime trips. Night-time symptoms are easier to interpret next to daytime ones. The IPSS questionnaire is a standard way to score them.
Sleep and any change over time
Note how well you slept and whether things are getting better, worse, or staying the same. A change from your normal is useful information for the visit.
What ManCore can and cannot do
- • The free Nocturia Log records night-time bathroom trips and shows your average.
- • The daily symptom diary in your free account keeps urinary symptoms alongside supplements, and you can export a 30-day Doctor PDF Report to share.
- • ManCore does not measure urine volume or flow, and it cannot tell you why you wake at night. Causes are for a doctor to assess.
- • If symptoms are new, getting worse, or worrying you, see a doctor rather than waiting to build a longer log.
ManCore is an educational tracking tool, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional about any urinary symptoms.
