Nigella sativa

Preliminary EvidenceEducational only · ManCore does not sell supplements

What the evidence shows

A traditional remedy with a handful of small trials showing testosterone and sperm-parameter improvements, most in men with baseline metabolic issues (obesity, subfertility) rather than healthy men. Promising but thin evidence base compared to better-studied options like ashwagandha or tongkat ali.

How it's thought to work

Contains thymoquinone, an antioxidant compound proposed to reduce oxidative stress in testicular tissue and support metabolic parameters relevant to steroidogenesis.

Typical Dosage

500mg–1g/day of standardized seed oil.

Safety Notes

Generally well-tolerated. Can lower blood pressure and blood sugar — caution if on relevant medications.
